Cara Humphreys - Clinical AssociateBScPT, FCAMPT, CGIMSDiploma of Advanced Manual & Manipulative Physical Therapy Registered Physiotherapist, IMS, Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation, Peri & Postnatal Care, Manipulative Therapy, Vestibular Dysfunction, Neurological Rehabilitation, Motor Control & Retraining Cara joined the Kamloops Physiotherapy team in 2004. Since graduating from UBC in 2000, Cara has focused on the assessment and treatment of complex orthopaedic and neurological conditions and running injuries. Cara has a special interest in chronic shoulder, thoracic spine and lumbopelvic-hip problems that require specific retraining, stability and/or muscle balance work. She has also taken a special interest in Women's Health including pre and postnatal care and the treatment of urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. Cara also works with patients in all stages of recovery from neurological conditions to assist them to achieve optimal function. Cara completed her Diploma of Advanced Manual and Manipulative Physical Therapy in 2008 and was granted her fellowship in the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapists (FCAMPT) designation. In 2008 she was certified to perform Intramuscular Stimulation (CGIMS) by ISTOP. Cara has also completed extensive post graduate training pertaining to motor control of the spine, shoulder and the lumbopelvic hip complex and in the use of Real Time Ultrasound Imaging (RTUSI) for the treatment of those with spinal motor control problems. Cara also recently completed courses in vestibular rehabilitation and pelvic floor muscle re-education. Cara continues to be an avid learner and takes continuing education courses on a regular basis. When not in the clinic, Cara can be found playing Ultimate Frisbee, rock climbing or out on the trails hiking, running or riding her bike. Cara is a past chair of the board of directors of the Kamloops Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, and continues to volunteer with various organizations in the community.
